United Church Women (UCW)

The purpose of the UCW as stated in its constitution is to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service.

The UCW has more than one hundred (100) committed members, working within six units, namely:

  1. Harmony,
  2. Dorothy Whitehouse,
  3. Mildred Mossop,
  4. Silver Stars,
  5. Triads, and
  6. University Way.

Each holds monthly meetings centred around Christian Witness and Study. Upon request receptions following funerals and memorial services are provided.

The UCW is engaged in fundraising for family, children and youth spiritual development for the Mission and Service Fund and for its on-going Outreach provided.

A Lenten book of meditation is published each year. It has become a tradition to hold special inter-denominational worship services at Thanksgiving, Advent and Easter. Members of the UCW experience bonds of friendship, fellowship and pastoral care.
