We at First†Metropolitan are especially proud of our Music Ministry. Services typically include the best of classical music as well as the newest hymns coming out of our church tradition. Hymns include old favourites and songs of celebration from other countries.
Accompanied by an Allen 4-manual digital organ, music soars to the heavens each Sunday morning.
Choir and global musicians singing at Epiphany Explorations

Once again, we will host wonderful choirs who are participating in the bi-annual Kathaumixw International Choir Festival held in Powell River. Groups include New Zealand Students’ Choir, a young female choir from Finland and an exciting mixed adult choir from the Czech Republic. Billets are needed for the Tuesday night (July 13). Supper, breakfast and a packed lunch are needed for each billet. A signup sheet is posted in the concourse. Contact Mary Kenderdine or Fran Pollet if you can assist with billeting. Tickets for the concert are $15 and $10 for the unwaged and will be available through the church office in late June.This is a major fundraiser for the Music Team.

Come to an afternoon of your favourite hymns sung by the choir and the Children’s Choir. This concert will give an opportunity for congregants to request a special anthem to be sung in memory of a loved one, anniversary, birthday etc. Family members will be invited forward to light a candle on the Communion Table. The program will include your notes about why you have chosen to honour this person/event, and an oportunity will be provided to make a donation in support of the music programming at First†Metropolitan. A tea will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
