This year, once a month on the first Friday, during the MMO( Mothers Morning Out),  we will have “ Rhythm Band” for preschoolers. It will be from 10:45 to 11:15 at the chapel. Mothers and all little ones are welcome to attend. I am so pleased to introduce  Kirsten Davis (FirstMet member),who is facilitating this program.  She is a mom with two little children. You will love her with her warmth and wonderful presence. Invite and bring your friends to First Met’s wonderful programs.

Kirsten started piano lessons at age 4, flute at age 9, and was a founding member of the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra in 1986.  She completed an Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in 1994.  From 1995 to 1998 she provided music therapy services for children and adults with physical and mental challenges at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Regina, Saskatchewan.  Kirsten returned to Victoria to complete the Associateship Diploma program at the Victoria Conservatory, studying Teaching and Performance in Flute with Dr. Mary Byrne.  Kirsten is currently on maternity leave from her positions at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and Victoria Hospice, where she provides music therapy services for seniors with physical and cognitive impairments, and for patients and families receiving palliative care.  She also delights in teaching flute lessons to students of all ages, and performing with Allegro Con Trio chamber ensemble.  Kirsten and her husband Dan love being “Mummy” and “Daddy” to 3-year-old Jeannie and 9-month-old Stella.
